
This sculpture is made from a piece of driftwood found by artist Charles Slaybaugh while fishing on Lake Tiorati, in Harriman State Park, New York. The piece has a double, natural S-curve that can be seen from the front, back and sides. There are even teeth marks where a beaver had gnawed at it. Charles pulled it into his small John Boat and brought it home in the back of his pickup truck. It is white pine; the base is made of red oak. The top is secured to the base with a 24” galvanized steel pipe.
