This piece of applewood was harvested from the front lawn of the school where artist Charles Slaybaugh was working when Hurricane Sandy hit New York. He kept the wood for a few years to let it season. When he began to work on it, it had considerable checking; he chose to fill the cracks with a deep purple epoxy resin giving it a special warmth and distinctive look.
As each of his pieces are unique and of varying sizes and weights. Please contact us prior to purchase to determine shipping rates to your location.
