This bowl was carved by artist Charles Slaybaugh from a piece of white pine found at a now-defunct mill in Orange County, New York. The wood has very distinct coloring with pinks, browns and a buttery beige. The grain varies throughout the piece with some dark lines and knots interspersed throughout.
